We're chuffed to be releasing the long-awaited debut solo album from Lightyear singer / songwriter Chas Palmer-Williams on our own Banquet label.

A proper lyrical genius, his solo songs are as insightful as they are funny. Recorded with a full band and added brass, strings and piano, contributors include Sam Duckworth (Get Cape Wear Cape Fly) and Matt Reynolds from Howards Alias. We think if you like the intelligent songwriting of The Weakerthans, the get-up-and-do-it feel of Frank Turner and the seeing-the-world-differently observations of Lightyear, you will absolutely love this.

Like anyone who is creative knows; I’m not that in control of this. It just comes out. It has to come out. I can sit here all day staring at a page. And then write one line. Or I can manically scribble away and write something within ten minutes and think it’s the best song I have ever done. I think that I’m writing the best lyrics since Lightyear and my song writing is getting better all the time.
