New Slang and shop favourites Foals curate a Tapes compilation for !K7,
Foals has linked up with crossover acts like The Field and Mount Kimbie for remix collaborations over the past few years, and Foals Tapes, the group's first official mix, reveals a similarly keen eye for the more experimental corners of club music. The mix will be released on CD, but its tracks are divided in half like on a cassette: one side is more song-oriented, the other is a bit more dance-y. Side A features selections from Nicolas Jaar, Clark and John Talabot, among others, while Congreave (who is also the main DJ in the band) uses Side B to work in tunes from Arnold Jarvis, Oni Ayhun, Jimmy Edgar and Midland.
