Moratorium (Broadcasts From The Interruption)
A companion collection to the excellent 2020 album Nothing Is True And Everything Is Possible from the Kingston visitors Enter Shikari. Collecting alternative, acoustic and 'recorded at home' versions of selected tracks from their back-catalogue alongside a much-wanted release for the cover of David Bowie's classic, Heroes. The band chose the best & most interesting from the large available selection of performances - originally created for media outlets such as Kerrang & Rock Sound in the UK, Russia’s Afisha & Snob magazines (and even a UK daytime TV slot on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch), along with special performances for 2000 Trees and Five 4 Five’s online festivals - and these have now been properly mixed by Rou Reynolds, mastered and compiled for worldwide release. "With no live shows, and no real contact with the rest of the band, it was nice to at least be able to do some remote sessions together. It was also interesting to develop acoustic and alternative versions of some of the new tracks. These performances went some way to filling the gaping hole in our lives!" Moratorium also includes two special solo acoustic performances recorded by Reynolds especially for the release, which see him accompanied be Bulgaria’s Sofia Session Orchestra. These include a drastically reworked version of Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible’s lead single The Dreamer’s Hotel : "After creating an acoustic version of The Dreamer's Hotel to play during lockdown livestreams, I began to think that this rather dulcet adaption could benefit from some orchestral parts. I love composing and it was a joy to work with the Sofia Session Orchestra, who, as you'll hear, nailed it”.

The day after their new album is released, Enter Shikari throw an album release party at The Rose Theatre.
In what is an intimate venue for them, this will be a celebration of the highly anticipated fifth album from the genre-fusing 4-piece. We're big fans of the band and can't wait to hear the album and get to this show. Expect politically charged lyrics, punk attitude, huge riffs, sparkling synths, and a mountain of energy. It'll be the first time these new songs have been played live, alongside an extensive selection of hits from previous albums.
“The Spark is a new connection, a new beginning,” says frontman Rou Reynolds. “It can be short and insignificant, but it can create something so significant. The spark is that light at the end of the tunnel – when everything seems to be falling apart, but you’re able to see some sort of path out of the dark.”
Album / ticket combos are available from £18 and other ticket options are available here.

Release Show / Roam / Enter Shikari
Sunday 18th January
at The Rose Theatre
Almost three years to the day since they were last in town, the phenomenal Enter Shikari return to Kingston to celebrate the release of new album The Mindsweep. On the eve of the album's release, Enter Shikari play an, intimate by their standards, All Ages Release Show, this time in the A-grade 3-tiered surroundings of The Rose Theatre. You know all about Shikari by now. Genre fusing, punk-minded, aggressive yet melodic anthems from one of the UK's most important bands. This will be a proper album release party, and you can get a ticket plus the album for only 15. This will be the first time a lot of these songs will be played live, and you can be sure to hear a few classics too! Support comes from Brighton melodic punks Roam who have played in town a couple of times. Definite ones to watch out for this year - they've just signed to Hopeless Records. The Rose Theatre is in the heart of Kingston, and is a brilliant room for watching the bigger touring bands that pass through. A totally different kind of show, but if you want to see what it's like, here's a video of Reel Big Fish there last summer. Doors are 7 Roam 7:30pm Enter Shikari 8:45pm Strict curfew of 10pm All ages welcome. The Rose is on The High Street, KT1 1HL
