To celebrate the release of the new album 'Louder, Please', Rose Gray visits Banquet Records for a signing session ahead of the DJ set at Bacchus.Rose Gray has today announced details of her long-awaited debut album Louder, Please, which will see a release on Play It Again Sam on January 17th. The budding pop star, songwriter and DJ has had recent activity ranging from a hit collaboration with TSHA (‘Girls’) and performing at Glastonbury alongside Shygirl to launching her own club night - Rose presents Gray. From its instructive title to its unapologetic sound, Louder, Please is Rose Gray powerfully - but with quintessential, British politeness - backing herself (who she is, what she wants, and the artist she’s always had the potential to become). It’s a statement of intent reflected in the record’s breadth of collaborators, which span legendary pop kingpins Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Chappel Roan) and Zhone (Troye Sivan) to underground electronic heroes like Seda Bodega, Uffie and Alex Metric.-7:00pm start with all ages welcome.Albums will be for collection at the signing. Signing Session / L.S. Dunes
Friday 31st January
at Banquet Records, 5:00pm
If you've already ordered Violet from us, you can upgrade to attend the signing. One upgrade per album. To celebrate the release of the new album 'Violet', L.S Dunes visit Banquet Records for a signing session ahead of their show at The Fighting Cocks. The earliest version of L.S. Dunes—the one that introduced themselves to the world at Chicago’s Riot Fest in 2022 and went on to release their blissfully chaotic debut, Past Lives, later that year—was birthed in turbulence. There was a pandemic. There were time and family constraints. There were members away on tour with one of their many other bands: Frank Iero’s My Chemical Romance, Anthony Green’s Saosin and Circa Survive, Travis Stever’s Coheed and Cambria, and Tim Payne and Tucker Rule’s Thursday, among them. But somehow, they managed to make it work, touring the globe for a growing and passionate fanbase and finding their footing as a distinct and singular band of their own design along the way. Now, with the release of their second full-length album, Violet—once again helmed by Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip—L.S. Dunes live up to the promise set by their debut, and in many ways, open up an opportunity to rediscover the band in a different light: Where Past Lives takes its oxygen from the thrill of frenzy and impulsiveness, Violet breathes deeper with a more open and expansive palette. Whether it lives in the confident and steady pulse of a song like “Machines,” in the rousing lyrical empowerment of “Paper Tigers,” or in the way that “Forgiveness” forges itself as an anthem for love and unconditional acceptance in the face of our personal failures, Violet is a body of work that secures multiple outcomes: There is hindsight. There is hope. There is, in fact, magic.-5:00pm start with all ages welcome.Albums will be for collection at the signing. Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.

Signing Session / JOAN ARMATRADING

Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.To celebrate the release of 'How Did This Happen And What Does It Now Mean', Joan Armatrading visits Kingston for a signing session. The 12-track set is the latest embellishment in a catalogue that opened in 1972 with Whatever's For Us. That LP launched the distinguished career that has led to MBE and CBE decorations, Ivor Novello and BASCA Gold Badge Awards for songwriting, BRIT and Grammy nominations, countless honorary degrees and far more. As usual in her recent history, the new record is a triumph of self-sufficiency, entirely written, produced, programmed and engineered by Joan herself. How Did This Happen... will rapidly be recognised by Armatrading's legions of devotees and new fans alike as a songwriting and recording masterclass. On a bed of melodies and arrangements that are by turns immediate and subtle, it weaves a lyrical tapestry that touches on both individual and universal themes with her trademark dexterity and easy charm, not to mention two show-stopping instrumentals.-6:00pm start with all ages welcome. It begins with someone who has lost themselves so completely they barely recognise the person in the mirror. Everything is shallow and inconsistent in their life so as to protect them from anything which might hold some true meaning. As the album unfolds so too does the story of our ‘hero’ who finds new ways to think about, and reflect on their life, and the lessons learned along the way. Another Touch centres around the loves, losses and ups and downs of life and how we think about ourselves and our place within the world.Who are we when the night ends? When everything goes quiet and it is time for us to speak what do we have to say? It’s a beautiful and reflective story of tragedy, loss and of finding yourself despite the dark.”
