We'll play the new album in full from 10:30pm - then play classics until midnight when the album drops.Blending the eclectic energy that first captivated her fans with a bold, fearless artistic vision, MAYHEM marks a triumphant return to Gaga’s pop roots. The album explores themes of chaos and transformation, celebrating music’s power to unite, provoke, and heal. “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” said Gaga. Far from a nostalgic throwback, MAYHEM reinvents her early sound with a kaleidoscopic approach that draws from her expansive musical library while embracing a fresh and fearless artistic perspective. Gaga describes the creative process as “reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”-Please note: Bacchus is an 18+ venue, so please bring photo ID or you won't be able to get in! Somebody's Child

at Banquet Records, 6:00pm
Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.To celebrate the release of 'When Youth Fades Away', Somebody's Child visits Kingston for an in-store set.Following the breakout success of their self-titled debut album in 2023, Dublin’s Somebody’s Child - the project led by Cian Godfrey - return with a bold new chapter in their musical journey. Their highly anticipated sophomore album When Youth Fades Away, set for release on March 28, 2025, via Frenchkiss Records. Recorded in the US with by Grammy Award-winner Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Frightened Rabbit), When Youth Fades Away showcases a leap in maturity, both musically and thematically, for the band. Frontman Cian Godfrey describes the album as a reflection on the inevitable process of ageing and the shifting perspectives that come with it. When Youth Fades Away explores a new range of emotional and sonic territory, from the synth-driven experimentation of the title track, to the introspective, stripped-back vulnerability of "Irish Goodbye." Drawing influences from early electronic pioneers Kraftwerk (whose use of technology became a north star for the band) and the personal lyricism of Leonard Cohen, the album is indicative of the band pushing beyond indie rock conventions into new creative ground. The record features additional keyboard instrumentation by The Gloaming member Thomas Bartlett (Doveman).-In-store Grade B. Performance expected to start shortly after time shown.Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of 'When Youth Fades Away' from us. Torres / Julien Baker
Tuesday 18th March
at St John's Church, 7:00pm (14+)
Admission will be via e-ticket. Your e-ticket will be delivered to your email address in time for the show (typically the day before the event). To celebrate the release of 'Send A Prayer My Way', Julien Baker & Torres visit Kingston to play an acoustic set at St John's Church. After dropping hints for months and following the release of their first single "Sugar in the Tank,” Julien Baker & TORRES are excited to announce the April 18 release of their debut album Send a Prayer My Way. The album has been in the works since the two played their first show together in 2016 and at the end one singer turned to the other and said, “You know, we should make a country album.” This is the origin story, the stuff of legend in the world of country music, and the beginning of a collaboration between two artists already admired for their spare, elegant lyrics as well as the courage to share their struggles with those who love their music. It’s also the beginning of creating a work that, like the most enduring country albums, sustains and inspires, reminding both singer and listener that not one of us is ever totally alone in this world, that music is a steady companion. Julien Baker & TORRES’ Send A Prayer My Way was written and sung in the best of the outlaw tradition - defiant, subversive, working class, and determined to wrestle not only with addiction, regret and bad decisions, but also with oppressive systems of power. Mercifully, this is only the beginning of the stories TORRES and Baker are determined to tell. Because these are also songs about radical empathy and second chances, and third chances, and while there’s plenty of struggle and regret in here, there’s also humor and defiance.-Times confirmed as doors at 7pm with a stage time of 8pmThose aged 14+ can attend unaccompanied. 8 to 13 year olds must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult (18+). Admission will be via e-ticket. Your e-ticket will be delivered to your email address in time for the show (typically the day before the event). To celebrate the release of the new album 'Colours Revisited', Adam F visits Kingston to play a DJ Set at Bacchus.'Colours Revisited', a revision of Adam F's MOBO Award-winning 1997 debut album is a story of musical rebirth and passion. Adam F, realising that 'Colours' had found a new audience—partly thanks to artists like PinkPantheress—decided to recreate the album. Instead of simply remastering the tracks, Adam went all in. Over two years, he meticulously reworked the original music, from restoring vintage instruments like his Fender Rhodes piano to enlisting UK jazz legends like Julian Joseph. Vocalists including Kirsty Hawkshaw and the late MC Conrad re-recorded their parts, while new solos from world-class musicians added fresh life to the tracks."Colours holds a special place in my heart because it was not only my first solo album, but also because I had the opportunity to collaborate with diverse talents," says the seminal producer on his ground-breaking album. "Musicians of a calibre such as Dave Ital (Guitars), The Jazz Great Julian Joseph (Keyboards and Fender Rhodes), MC Conrad (MC/Artist), Roni Jordan (Jazz a guitarist who had a hit with Miles Davis' "So What"), Tim Philbert/Tim the Bass (Bass), Greg Leicester (Bass), Maurice Capillaire/MC MC (Live MC)..."Adam continues "We were honoured to be nominated for MOBO "Best album of the year" alongside renowned acts of that time, including Hinda Hicks, Des'ree, Lighthouse Family, and Massive Attack. In fact, I was so convinced that we wouldn't win that I didn't prepare a speech, and that definitely showed in my genuine surprise. Colours also went on to be a top 20 UK National Chart hit which lead to Metropolis winning Tune of the Year at the Underground Awards. Music In My Mind from the same album was inspired from Herbie Hancock 'Rocket' and 'I Thought It Was You'."Fast forward to 2020, I never thought of ever revisiting 'Colours'. But it seems that time has come round full circle, the interest is there." The revisited album deftly weaves together the energy of new live instrumentation with the 80's British electronica and jazz fusion inspired sounds of the original. The result is a project which not only brings the album into the glistening present but somehow manages to add further depth and sense of understanding of the original 'Colours', the influences latent within it and how and why it has gone on to influence so many others since it's inception throughout the world. This is a must have album which pays homage to what has become a cornerstone of British electronic music history.-Times TBC but we expect doors at 9:00pm with Adam F's DJ set to start at 10:00pm.This is an 18+ event. Antony Szmierek
Sunday 2nd March
at Banquet Records, 6:30pm
Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.To celebrate the release of the new album Service Station at the End Of The Universe, Antony Szmierek visits Kingston to play an in-store set.Manchester-based poet, writer and producer Antony Szmierek has announced the release of his debut album, Service Station At The End Of The Universe. The past few years have been a wild ride for the artist. Cutting his teeth on the Manchester spoken word scene and gaining notoriety for his seamless flow skewering everything from the hardships of contemporary British life to finding the unexpected beauty in the everyday, it was the 2023 release of his single ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Fallacy’ that kicked off his meteoric ascent. The earworming track soon found its way onto the BBC 6 Music airwaves and led Szmierek to be named an Artist of the Year 2023 by the station. There followed appearances on Later… with Jools Holland, a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session, multiple triumphant Glastonbury sets and a flurry of comparisons: to the pavement prose of The Streets, the poetry of John Cooper Clarke if he found himself at the Haçienda, or like Jarvis Cocker for the UK Garage generation. Yet, with the release of his 2023 indie- influenced EP Poems To Dance To and now his banger-filled, dancefloor-focused debut album, Service Station at the End of the Universe, Szmierek cements his sound as one that is distinctly his own. While the album provides a culmination of the deep dancefloor poetry that began with ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Fallacy’, it also showcases a new side to Szmierek’s writing, producing moments of downbeat, dark poignance. The album produces a cohesive and infectious journey through pop melodic hooks and thumping dancefloor orchestrations.-In-store Grade C. Performance expected to start shortly after time shown.Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of 'Service Station at the End Of The Universe' from us.
