We'll play the new album in full from 10:30pm - then play classics until midnight when the album drops.Blending the eclectic energy that first captivated her fans with a bold, fearless artistic vision, MAYHEM marks a triumphant return to Gaga’s pop roots. The album explores themes of chaos and transformation, celebrating music’s power to unite, provoke, and heal. “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” said Gaga. Far from a nostalgic throwback, MAYHEM reinvents her early sound with a kaleidoscopic approach that draws from her expansive musical library while embracing a fresh and fearless artistic perspective. Gaga describes the creative process as “reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”-Please note: Bacchus is an 18+ venue, so please bring photo ID or you won't be able to get in! Doors 10:00pm with playback starting at 10:30pmThis is an in-person event. Posters and stickers are to be collected at Bacchus - we cannot provide these for customers who do not attend.

Somebody's Child
Thursday 27th March
at Banquet Records, 6:00pm
Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.To celebrate the release of 'When Youth Fades Away', Somebody's Child visits Kingston for an in-store set.Following the breakout success of their self-titled debut album in 2023, Dublin’s Somebody’s Child - the project led by Cian Godfrey - return with a bold new chapter in their musical journey. Their highly anticipated sophomore album When Youth Fades Away, set for release on March 28, 2025, via Frenchkiss Records. Recorded in the US with by Grammy Award-winner Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Frightened Rabbit), When Youth Fades Away showcases a leap in maturity, both musically and thematically, for the band. Frontman Cian Godfrey describes the album as a reflection on the inevitable process of ageing and the shifting perspectives that come with it. When Youth Fades Away explores a new range of emotional and sonic territory, from the synth-driven experimentation of the title track, to the introspective, stripped-back vulnerability of "Irish Goodbye." Drawing influences from early electronic pioneers Kraftwerk (whose use of technology became a north star for the band) and the personal lyricism of Leonard Cohen, the album is indicative of the band pushing beyond indie rock conventions into new creative ground. The record features additional keyboard instrumentation by The Gloaming member Thomas Bartlett (Doveman).-In-store Grade B. Performance expected to start shortly after time shown.Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of 'When Youth Fades Away' from us. If there's space on the day for more people, we'll let you know!

Torres / Julien Baker
Tuesday 18th March
at St John's Church, 7:00pm (14+)
Admission will be via e-ticket. Your e-ticket will be delivered to your email address in time for the show (typically the day before the event). To celebrate the release of 'Send A Prayer My Way', Julien Baker & Torres visit Kingston to play an acoustic set at St John's Church. After dropping hints for months and following the release of their first single "Sugar in the Tank,” Julien Baker & TORRES are excited to announce the April 18 release of their debut album Send a Prayer My Way. The album has been in the works since the two played their first show together in 2016 and at the end one singer turned to the other and said, “You know, we should make a country album.” This is the origin story, the stuff of legend in the world of country music, and the beginning of a collaboration between two artists already admired for their spare, elegant lyrics as well as the courage to share their struggles with those who love their music. It’s also the beginning of creating a work that, like the most enduring country albums, sustains and inspires, reminding both singer and listener that not one of us is ever totally alone in this world, that music is a steady companion. Julien Baker & TORRES’ Send A Prayer My Way was written and sung in the best of the outlaw tradition - defiant, subversive, working class, and determined to wrestle not only with addiction, regret and bad decisions, but also with oppressive systems of power. Mercifully, this is only the beginning of the stories TORRES and Baker are determined to tell. Because these are also songs about radical empathy and second chances, and third chances, and while there’s plenty of struggle and regret in here, there’s also humor and defiance.-Times confirmed as doors at 7pm with a stage time of 8pmThose aged 14+ can attend unaccompanied. 8 to 13 year olds must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult (18+). No under 8s, sorry.St John the Evangelist, Grove Lane, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 2SU
