Released on 22nd November via Polydor Records, “Small Changes” is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Michael’s eponymous third LP, the Mercury Prize winning, and Grammy Award nominated “KIWANUKA”. “Small Changes” was produced alongside Danger Mouse and Inflo, the team behind the globally acclaimed “KIWANUKA” and its equally acclaimed predecessor, “Love & Hate”. The new record was recorded between London and Los Angeles. Thursday 24th October
at New Slang, 9:00pm (18+)
Just ahead of the release of his new album, Michael Kiwanuka returns to Kingston to play at New Slang on its 13th Birthday. Meticulously crafted and stunning soul-fused bluesy songwriting, we can't wait for this one and to hear songs from his 4th album KIWANUKA.
Recorded in New York, LA and London, Michael returned to the studio with Danger Mouse and Inflo, the same production team that combined so magnificently on Love & Hate, KIWANUKA finds a new assuredness in Michael’s writing, and takes the basic sonic blueprint of that last record to a dizzying new realm.
Times TBC but we expect doors at 9:00pm with Michael Kiwanuka on stage at 10:30pm
After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of The Cribs, Liam Gallagher, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Courteeners, Maximo Park and many more until 2AM.
CD/ticket is £14 post-paid, and other formats and combos are available. Albums and tickets will be posted separately, the album is released 1st November.
Yellow LP is exclusive to indies + high street retailers. Both LP variants are Double LPs.
New Slang is an over 18s event, and is strict on ID. Please bring photo ID with you on the night, whatever age you are.
